Description:

This chair was designed for the café that extends into the atrium in front of the entrance of the museum. Mr. Yonetani thought that this would be the face of the museum, so he aimed for "beauty that stands out without being overbearing," since there are nearly 100 of them lined up. In commercialization, the issue was how to improve the comfort of wearing with a single round bar and arm. “It looks simple and peaceful at first glance, but when you sit on it, it becomes a personal space. The shape and feel of the seat surface is reminiscent of a cushion, so you can sit longer than you think, and it is wide enough to allow you to easily shift your weight,” says Yonetani.
